Lina is a researcher and human rights specialist with ten years’ experience in the humanitarian and research sectors. She is currently enrolled in the Master’s in Democracy and Human Rights at Saint Joseph University, Beirut. She studies the impact of conflict, discriminatory legal frameworks, and patriarchal social norms on vulnerable groups–notably women who lost their husbands during the conflicts. Her current focus is on that topic in the case of Syria with a comparison approach with other contexts in the Arab region.
