Mkuta is a recent graduate of the University of Dar Es Salaam, Bachelor of Arts in Archeology and Geography. Mkuta has a foundation in history, Kiswahili and geography subjects at advanced college level subjects which he advanced at the university for a bachelor’s degree.
Mkuta has a fundamental knowledge of the computer and uses of digital devices including video, photo and audio recording and editing systems. He has also specialized in Geographical Information System (G.I.S) and mapping in archaeology work which he accentuated through research at Mgao, Olduvai Gorge, KilwaKisiwani (World Heritage Site) and Makuyuni in Tanzania.
Mkuta has also been trained in Project Planning and Management skills. He has been a former social and cultural affairs leader of Dar es Salaam University archaeology and heritage student’s association (DUHASA)
