Carla has a degree in geological engineering from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), with training in volcanology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Member of the Latin American Association of Volcanology (ALVO), she is currently part of the team in charge of studying and evaluating the hazards associated with the Chachani and Casiri volcanoes at the Vulcanological Observatory of INGEMMET (Peru).
