Edwar Hanna

Edwar is an architect and urban practitioner with a specialized focus on the role of communication and urban dialogue as participatory tools for social justice and post-conflict reconstruction.

With an MSc in Development Planning and Urban Design from UCL and a previous BSc in Architecture Edwar has an interdisciplinary approach to project design, implementation, and research.

He is the co-founder of Syrbanism, a platform that provides a lens of simplicity that non-architects/urbanists could use to widen their knowledge about Syrian urban realities and to be part of the current and future discussions about their built environment. Edwar led participatory peacebuilding initiatives with C4D Network in more than ten war-torn countries around the world and managed social development projects in Egypt, Eritrea, Jordan, Lebanon, Malawi, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe.
